The Brief

NeuralSpace.ai is a SaaS company specialising in Natural Language Processing (NLP) for over 100 languages and dialects. As Head of Design, I led the rebranding initiative, refining the company’s identity to align with its evolving market position while also directing ongoing product development.

Exploration

The NLP industry is highly competitive, with many companies offering similar solutions. Despite its innovative nature, much of the design in the sector lacked distinctiveness. NeuralSpace, at its seed investment stage, recognised the need for a stronger, more differentiated brand identity. Through stakeholder meetings and workshops, we uncovered key insights—beyond just technology—to emphasise efficiencies, improved communication, and positive human outcomes.

We conducted a number of stakeholder workshops and audits to better understand the product rationale and how we could tailor the solutions for better market fit. These findings were collated into a report that was distributed to all staff members.

Development

Our goal was to create a brand that simplified a complex proposition while maintaining credibility and relatability. The result of an in-depth design development process led us to the establishment of three core brand pillars:

  • Technological – Grounded in cutting-edge NLP advancements
  • Human – Focused on real-world applications and user benefits
  • Adaptive – Designed for scalability and market evolution

The final logo, a hexagonal form inspired by a beehive, represented teamwork and cooperation while visually integrating elements of technology (circuitry), humanity (brain), and adaptability (a puzzle cube). The colour palette drew from our geographical customer base, including African and Middle Eastern hues, adding warmth and authenticity. Photography avoided generic tech clichés, favouring honest, modern imagery.

The rebrand provided NeuralSpace with a cohesive and scalable identity, increasing stakeholder confidence, brand awareness, and credibility. It positioned the company as a recognised authority in the Language AI space, transitioning from a startup to an established player.
